Our Amy Winehouse podcast was the hardest one from an emotional perspective so far. After watching the A24 documentary (really good) and the biopic that came out a couple of years ago (pretty bad), and listening to all of her music, I was just sad that she was gone. And after talking to Mike about what her 2010s would've been like had she been able to overcome her addiction, her story is as much about what was to come as it was what she left us with. Because what she left was near musical perfection.
Mike put together a 50 For 50 playlist of his favorite Amy songs. We didn't actually do a Top Five episode on her because she only made two albums. But those albums were so good, it wasn't hard to put together the must-listen list of Amy Winehouse songs. Enjoy.
